Meet the Team

Jonathan

Jonathan Marsh
House and Collections Manager

I’m responsible for the care of the house and collections. I joined the team at Polesden Lacey in 2008; having previously worked at seven other NT properties since 2002. I have an MA in Preventive Conservation. I manage the presentation and interpretation of the house and lead a team of seven staff and over 400 volunteers to ensure the house experience at the heart of the visit.

House Steward

I’ve just joined the team at Polesden Lacey, having worked at another National Trust property, Petworth House & Park, for two years. Before that I worked in various museums in Yorkshire in both Curatorial and Front of House roles.  I have a BA degree in History and an MA in Cultural Heritage Management.  I am responsible for the day-to-day operations of the house and leading the team in preventive conservation and housekeeping.

HelenHelen Taylor
Assistant House Steward (Conservation and Collections Care)
I joined the house team at Polesden in 2005 having worked at Buckland Abbey and Chirk Castle after my degree in historical geography and hydrology, coming into my present role as Assistant House Steward in 2008.  My role here covers a lot of things with special concentration on the care for the collection and conservation side. I also manage the volunteer conservation team, needlework assistants and interns.

TraceyTracey Parker
Assistant House Steward (Visitor Experience and Volunteering)
I started volunteering here as a room guide in 2002 and did so for five years until I became a Conservation Assistant. I have a BSc in Heritage Conservation and MA in Museum Management. My interests lie heavily in social history and I have been interviewing and compiling a collection of stories/memories from past employees and their families who were here during Mrs Greville’s time. As Assistant House Steward I look after the tour guides, flower and plant assistants and NADFAS volunteers.

Charlotte-closerCharlotte Burford
Conservation & Engagement Assistant
I first started at Polesden Lacey in 2013 as an Intern and was appointed as a Conservation and Engagement Assistant in 2014. I have a BA degree in Archaeology and an MA in Museum Studies. I am particularly interested in the concept of object biography – the story each object in the collection has to tell. At Polesden Lacey Mrs Greville used her possessions to convey her wealth and Status, her house was a stage set for entertaining the upper echelons of society. I really enjoy helping to care for the collection and telling the stories behind the house and all its contents

KatarinaKatarina Robinson
Conservation and Engagement Assistant

My time at Polesden started in March 2015, after having volunteered in three other National Trust Properties.
I have a BA in the History of Art from York and MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.
My specialism lies in Early Modern European Painting and Graphic Arts but I love working with a range of Fine and Decorative Arts. My role here focuses on the care and conservation of Polesden’s fabulous collections and collaborating with the House Team, conservation volunteers and interns.

Amy Bebb

I started at Polesden Lacey as an Intern in March 2015, joining the house team as a full time Conservation Assistant in July 2015. My role focuses on conservation and collection care and the day to day upkeep of the collection. I have a BA degree in History from the University of Kent and have previously volunteered for the National Trust at another property and for a local museum.

    • Hi Vivienne,

thank you for you wonderful comment, we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the room and piano playing so much. We hope to see you again soon!

  1. HI I visited Polseden Lacey today and met the pianist in the Gold Room. I would be interested in talking to someone about becoming a volunteer pianist. I passed my Grade 8 when at school and have never stopped playing. I can’t find anyone to communicate with on the website re this. Perhaps you can help.

    • Hi Maddie,

I’m really pleased to hear you are interested in becoming a volunteer pianist. We are however not at recruiting at the moment but you can register your interest and we will then contact you when space becomes available. Please email PLvolunteering@nationaltrust.org.uk.

      thank you

      Charlotte
