An Edwardian Advent

After weeks of hard work and preparation from the House team we have finally completed our Christmas display ‘Edwardian Advent.’ Come and see what’s inside…

At Polesden Lacey, the country estate of society hostess Mrs Greville, tradition and modern luxury blended together. Preparations for one of the social highlights of the year filled the advent period. Over the next few weeks our visitors will be looking to find all 24 of our Advents and discover what happened in the run up to Christmas at Polesden Lacey. We wouldn’t want to spoil to surprise for you as we are hoping that you will come and visit us, so here’s a sneak peek of what to expect!

  1. Everything absolutely fab. Pity the staff at the House and Visitor Reception were not in costume. Loved the extra rooms open, especially the Tea Room set up and the Linen Room, etc.
Well done all your hard work has paid off.

    Happy Christmas
    LOL Irene X

    • Thank you Irene, we’re so glad you enjoyed the House, especially the Linen Room and the Tea Room. The staff were not costumed this year to ensure that we could make as many costumes available as possible for volunteers to use.
